- No swimming, saunas, steam rooms or beauty treatments near the face or eye area for 48 hours.
- Use water-based (extension approved products) makeup removers, cleansers & makeup. Oil, wax & creamy based products will shorten the life of your extensions.
- A lash cleanser must be used on your lashes daily to help prevent infections & Demodex mite infestations. Mite’s love feeding on excess dead skin cells (build-up) and oils.
- Keep lashes away from open flames or excessive heat (hot oven) as this will singe and curl the tips of your extension fibres.
- Do not put your head directly under the showerhead or running water as this pressure can strain the bases of your extensions and cause premature fallout. Instead, splash water in an upward motion onto your face.
- Regular cleansing (extension approved cleaners) will maintain your natural lash health by preventing the build-up of natural oils, makeup, dust & ultimately your extensions will last longer.
- Avoid exfoliants around the eye and lash areas. This includes chemical treatments, AHA’s, Glycolic Acids and Salicylic based products.
- No mascara. And avoid using water-proof mascara in general for optimal natural lash health.
- Do not use eyelash curlers as this will break down the adhesive quickly and cause premature fallout.
- Avoid rubbing, touching, or picking your eyelash extensions. This can become an addictive habit that can cause permanent natural lash damage – so do not go there!
- Use a tissue or soft towel to blot dry lashes after washing your face. You can use a hairdryer from a distance at a cool temperature and lowest speed.
- Always keep lashes neat and tidy by brushing with a clean spoolie, this keeps natural lashes neat and unfolds any twisted extensions.
- Let your beauty professional know immediately if you experience any discomfort or irritation with your extensions.
- Any extension sets that are outside of a 4 week period since the last application please book in for a new complete set. Adhesives start to breakdown much quicker at the 5 – 6 week mark so this is why there is a specified time frame for refill appointments.
- All clients with existing eyelash extensions applied outside of Belle Affair must book for a removal and a complete new extension set.
